Ubo

A privacy-first agentic AI assistant pod you can modify, extend, and manage from anywhere with a wide range of clients.

I founded Ubo, an open-source framework for building agentic AI assistants for developers and tech enthusiasts. It combines software and hardware co-design through a hyper-modular architecture, a reactive core, and a universal interface that runs everywhere — built-in GUI, web, iPhone, watchOS, macOS, Android, ESP32, and more. Funded on Kickstarter by hundreds of backers, it was well received by the developer community and covered by notable publications.

Picovoice

Tiny, efficient AI models that brings intelligence to edge devices.

I co-founded Picovoice, a startup training hyper-efficient edge AI models that run on resource-constrained devices. We began with voice AI — wake word detection, speech-to-intent, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, speaker diarization, speaker identification, and noise suppression — and later expanded to multi-modal vision and language models. Picovoice products have been used by hundreds of thousands of developers to date. During my tenure, I led technical marketing, benchmarking, product, and sales. The video below demos our speech-to-text model running on a Raspberry Pi Zero.

Havyn

End-to-end IoT hardware and fleet software for secure, contactless package delivery at apartment communities.

Havyn was a multi-family IoT platform that let delivery services access property gates and leave packages securely in appliance-like lock boxes. I joined as CTO and led end-to-end system design and implementation across IoT hardware, software, and the fleet-management backend. We completed the full system and closed a distribution deal with one of the largest residential management firms to host lockers nationwide. Ultimately, a lack of operating capital for scaling manufacturing forced us to wind the operation down.

MoveSmart

Fleet-management software and telematics hardware powering bike- and e-bike-share programs in cities worldwide.

I created MoveSmart, a vehicle-sharing platform powered by BitLock connected hardware. It began with bike share and expanded to support e-bikes and other electric vehicles. The product included a fleet-management backend, user-facing mobile apps (iOS, Android), and access-control and telematics hardware. Several operators used it to manage their fleets in cities worldwide. We also developed a battery-swapping kiosk concept for e-bikes and e-vehicles for Toyota Innovation.

BitLock

The lock that kicked off smart, keyless bike security — thousands shipped worldwide after a viral Kickstarter debut.

I designed the first Bluetooth-enabled bicycle lock and took it from concept to mass production. Launched on Kickstarter in 2013, it raised $130K in 30 days from 1,000 backers. Over the next few years, several thousand BitLocks were manufactured in Taiwan and shipped worldwide.
